Patricia is hoping for a kidney donor hero

My name is Patricia Hellwig. In my younger years I grew up in the military. My dad was a master sergeant. I was born in Fort Eustis, VA and moved to Frankfort, Germany, then Fayetteville NC. We eventually ended up in Western New York, where I have enjoyed the majority of my life.

It's been two years since I started having kidney issues. Many tests later we started dialysis. My husband and I completed an eight- week home dialysis training. Once we were done, we began doing dialysis at home four times a week. It has been very scary. I'm only able to work once a week.

My husband has been my support and keeps me on track. We are searching for a kidney donor so I can get my life back to enjoy all the family fun activities that I miss so much.

We pray every day and sometimes many times throughout the day that a HERO will step forward a give me a miracle that I need so desperately.
