Community Outreach Volunteer

Did you know that 1 in 7 American adults has kidney disease? Help us spread the word about the impact of kidney disease, share risk factors and let patients know about support programs.
How you can help:
-
Share information about kidney health and kidney disease risk factors, in accordance with Kidney Foundation of WNY guidelines. Volunteers will not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment of any kind.
-
Distribute informational materials prepared by the Kidney Foundation of WNY, the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDKD) and other sources.
Outreach and patient service events may take place at various locations, including community centers, parks, businesses, restaurants/hotels, and medical offices.

We now offer both in-person training and remote training for volunteers.

Event Planning Committee Volunteer

Event planning committee volunteers are important to the Kidney Foundation. Our committee members bring up new ideas, help us to think through logistics, and reach out to other organizations and people.

You don't need special qualifications or connections to join an event committee. The most important thing is that you want to help.

Until further notice, all committee meetings are being held remotely by video conference or phone conference. Meetings are generally held on weeknight evenings or at another time convenient for the most members of a specific committee.

Kidney Health Screening Volunteer

The Kidney Foundation of WNY offers a free community kidney health screenings throughout our service area. We are currently seeking medical professionals to volunteer with tasks such including blood pressure readings and BMI calculation, as well as non-medical volunteers for registration.
