Observed annually from September 15 to October 15, National Hispanic Heritage Month honors the history and culture of Hispanics and Latin Americans whose origins are from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. National Hispanic Heritage Month also recognizes the contributions that Latinos and Hispanics have made to the history, society and culture of the United States and honors our Mexican, Chilean and Central American brothers who celebrate their independence during this month. The theme for 2022 is “UNIDOS: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation.”
During this month, our community celebrates and honors the generosity of Hispanic and Latino donors and donor families who gave the gift of life as well as all Latinos who work every day saving lives in the field of Donation and Transplantation. Additionally, we raise awareness of the critical need for the Latino/Hispanic/Latinx community to register as organ, eye and tissue donors.

FELIZ MES NACIONAL DE LA HERENCIA HISPANA
Observado anualmente del 15 de Septiembre al 15 de Octubre, el Mes Nacional de la Herencia Hispana rinde homenaje a la historia y cultura de los Hispanos y Latinoamericanos cuyos orígenes son de España, México, el Caribe, América Central y América del Sur. El Mes Nacional de la Herencia Hispana también reconoce las contribuciones que los Latinos e Hispanos han hecho a la historia, sociedad y a la cultura de los Estados Unidos y honra a nuestros hermanos Mexicanos, Chilenos y Centroamericanos que celebran su independencia durante este mes. El tema para el 2022 es “UNIDOS: Inclusividad para una Nación más Fuerte.”
Durante este mes, nuestra comunidad celebra y honra la generosidad de los donantes Hispanos y Latinos y la de las familias donantes que dieron el regalo de la vida así como también a todos los Latinos que trabajan día a día salvando vidas en el área de la Donación y Trasplante. Adicionalmente, creamos conciencia sobre la necesidad crítica de que nuestra comunidad Latina/Hispana/Latinx se registre como donantes de órganos, córneas y tejidos.
