The Kidney Foundation of WNY is highlighting our patient assistance programs through the "Every Mile Matters" campaign, which began in November and will continue through the end of 2024. It will help to fund rides to dialysis and medical appointments, specialized nutritional products, and other urgent needs in the patient community.
These assistance programs have been a lifeline for many local people dealing with kidney disease, undergoing dialysis or waiting for a transplant. We’re receiving more requests than ever before for patients who need short-term transportation to fill a gap, nutritional supplements to address deficiencies, and other urgent needs. At the same time, costs are rising.
We’re arranging more rides and other assistance, but are still receiving new requests from patients, families and social workers. Our "Every Mile Matters" campaign will allow us to provide help to the Western New Yorkers who need it most.
Communication students at Buffalo State University assisted with the development of the campaign and marketing strategies. The "Every Mile Matters" name, tagline "Fuel the Journey for Kidney Patients," and associated logo are being used in a number of Kidney Foundation materials, including letters to past contributors, social media posts and ads, and our #GivingTuesday efforts.
Those interested in making a gift can do so through our campaign page at www.kfwny.org/everymile, Venmo, PayPal, or the Facebook fundraising page.
